Why are you passionate about aviation?
I fell in love with aviation at a young age. When I'm around an aircraft, there is a feeling of pure joy and excitement that overwhelms me. I wanted to have that feeling every day, so I decided to pursue a career in aviation. The stories of the Tuskegee Airmen not only inspire me but serve as reassurance that I can make it over the obstacles that lay in the road ahead.
In addition to this, I also want to inspire the next generation of African American pilots. I want to be a role model for someone to look up to, a story that they can relate to. I understand the importance of having someone to look up to, and every day I work hard at my dream in hopes of one day inspiring someone else.
What is your future aspiration?
My future aspiration is to become a pilot in the United States Air Force.
Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT?
I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT because of the opportunity that it provides me. It puts me that much closer to my dreams, but also relieves me of the financial burden that can come with obtaining a pilot license. Additionally, this program carries the name of the greatest group of military aviators and my heroes, the Tuskegee Airmen and I really wanted to be a part of the program.
