Why are you passionate about aviation?
I've had a fascination with flying ever since I was a young child and watched Southwest land their planes in the White Castle parking lot on 63rd and Cicero in Chicago. I have always been mechanically inclined which explains why I love computers and cars, but I also love physics. Aviation, in my opinion, is the ultimate career for me because it combines mechanical engineering and physics in the best way. I became hooked after taking my first flight at SIU Carbondale's United Airlines Career Day, and ever since then, I've done everything in my power to achieve my aviation ambitions and one day become a captain. I acknowledge that I stand on the shoulders of giants before me, being the Tuskegee Airmen, I accept the responsibility of carrying on their heritage.
What is your future aspiration?
To become a pilot for a legacy carrier, give back to my community by providing knowledge and opportunity through aviation, and use my resources to change the lives of underrepresented youth.
Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT?
Because I knew some cadets who had already applied to Tuskegee NEXT and greatly admired the program they were a part of, I made the decision to do the same. Tuskegee NEXT is the ultimate example of what aligns with my values thanks to their mission and the incredible chance to obtain a Private Pilots Certificate.
